SC Forms Committee to Report Ground Situation in J&K

The apex court of India, Supreme Court on Wednesday has formed a committee to evaluate the actual situation in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. The 5-member committee will be headed by Sr. Registrar of Jammu and Kashmir High Court.

The committee has been asked to report the Supreme court within two weeks. The committee has been directed to report the Jammu and Kashmir High Court also.

The Committee will report the ground situation of the state after it was hit by the floods.

J&K government’s counsel assured the bench headed by Chief Justice R M Lodha that the drinking water would be made available to all flood-affected people within three days.

In the earlier hearing, Supreme Court had said that the Jammu and Kashmir flood disaster needs ‘National Response.
