Security Officials Seized large Stockpile Explosives, Hand Grenades in West Bengal

West-BengalOn Friday National Investigation Agency (NIA) and National Security Guard (NSG)officials seized a large stockpile of crude hand grenades, explosives and socket bombs from a house, where suspected militant Rejaul Karim used to stay, in Burdwan district of West Bengal. They found the explosives from a secret loft constructed after cutting the wall of a bathroom in Rezaul’s place.

Security officials defused the bombs, at the banks of Damodar river, in Burdwan area.

As part of its investigation, NIA on Wednesday conducted searches at various places including the residence and shop of the arrested accused Hashem Moulla alias Badre Alam in Burdwan.

Besides arresting 6 people in Bengal and 6 others from Assam in connection with the incident, NIA sleuths have interrogated 3 people in Chennai.
