Setback for TDP-BJP

GHMC_ElectionsIt’s a huge setback for TDP-BJP combine in the GHMC polls as the alliance failed to give a fight either to the ruling party TRS or the AIMIM. Voters who originally hailed from Seemandhra districts have preferred TRS to TDP, signalling a change in the attitude post bifurcation. The election is also signifies erosion of TDP vote bank which transferred to TRS in several areas. TDP’s lofty claims of developing the city failed to convince the voters who were mostly in the age group of 18- 35 years. Leadership vacuum has been evident in TDP as none of the TTDP leaders come up to the expectations. Chandrababu’s campaign has also not worked as he has been branded ‘irrelevant’ for the city. Nara Lokesh could not match KTR’s leadership abilities. In case of BJP, none including Dattatreya and Kishan Reddy, could make a mark during campaign. Rahul Gandhi’s fast in HCU on Rohit Vemula’s suicide or Digvijay Singh’s campaign failed to enthuse voters in favour of the party. Leadership vaccum is also evident in Congress as well. More than the Congress, it is the TDP which should make an honest introspection of its existence in the city as much of its cadre has turned to TRS
