Shiv Sena will contest all 288 seats

shiv-senaAfter the 25-year-old alliance collapsed with BJP, the Shiv Sena has decided now to contest all the 288 seats in the state.

The list of candidates has been finalized late on Friday night but the party refused to make it public immediately. All the candidates will file their nomination papers on Saturday, the last day to do so.

Shiv Sena has also decided to hold a massive rally in Mumbai on Saturday to kick-start the election campaign.

The Shiv Sena-BJP alliance broke up over the seat sharing row as both the parties were adamant to their demands.

In a similar move, Congress and NCP of Sharad Pawar have also parted their ways. Maharashtra election will now see a five-way contest. The fifth giant in the fight is Raj Thackeray’s MNS.
