‘Shooting Doc’ Ends Life

shashi-kumarDoctor Sashi Kumar who reportedly shot at his fellow doctor Uday Kumar over a tiff on sharing of the proceeds of their hospital on Monday, later shot himself to death at his farm house at Nakkalapalli, Moinabad mandal, Rangareddy district. He mentioned in his suicide note that he was ending his life due to harassment from Dr. Saikumar and Dr. Udaykumar who cheated him in the management of their hospital. He said in his suicide note that it was Dr. Sai Kumar who shot at Dr. Uday Kumar but not he (Sashi Kumar). He ran away from the scene only out of fear and committed suicide.

To get back into the earlier story, Dr. Sashikumar, a general surgeon is the owner of Sai Nikit hospital. He, along with Dr. Rachakonda Uday Kumar of Madhapur and Dr. Saikumar wanted to establish a hospital with an investment of Rs.15 crores, three years ago. Dr. Sashi Kumar invested Rs. 75 lakhs, Dr. Uday Kumar Rs.3 crores and Dr. Sai Kumar Rs.2.9 crores. As the amount was not sufficient, they loaned the required amount from NRIs and opened the Laurel Hospital on January 1, 2016. Later Dr. Uday Kumar included another partner in the joint venture without Dr. Sashi Kumar’s knowledge, which created dispute among the three. As Dr. Sashi Kumar demanded the return of his investment, the three agreed to settle the matter on Monday. They went to Himayat Nagar and discussed the issue for sometime. Later the three went in a car to an apartment and stopped in front of it and started the discussion again around 4.30 PM. During heated exchanges, Dr. Sashi Kumar reportedly shot at Dr. Uday Kumar with his licensed pistol. Luckily the bullet missed the target and brushed past his ear, injuring him lightly. As the target missed, both Dr. Sashi Kumar and Dr. Sai Kumar escaped from the scene of crime. The injured Dr. Uday Kumar engaged an auto and got himself admitted into Apollo Hospital at Hyderguda. The police shifted Dr. Sashi Kumar’s body to postmortem and are investigating.
