Six Cities into Smart City in Telangana State

Six-Cities-into-Smart-City-Hyderabad: The Telangana government has sought “smart city” status for six cities in the state. They also submitted to the centre for approval.
The NDA government’s programme to develop “100 smart cities” across the country. And they had shortlisted Warangal, Nizambad, Karimnagar, Khammam, Ramagundam and Mahbubnagar for the purpose. The officials selected these cities on the basis of population comprises 3.64 % of national urban population and government hopes to get four “smart cities”.
And urged the centre to develop seven municipalities as “satellite township”, which are located within a distance of 100 KM from Hyderabad,Medchal,Gajwel,Bhongir,Peddamberpet and other with a cost Rs 135 crore.
