An Indian cricket player who was part of the World Cup winning team and playing for the country currently is named in the Mukul Mudgal committee to have played a role in the Fixing/ betting allegations during IPL. But who is this player? There are currently six players in the team who were part of the world Cup winning squad. The testimony of a journalist to the Mudgal committee says that all six prominent players have some level of involvement with bookies. Former chief of BCCI, I.S. Bindra is also said to have named at least two of them in his testimony.
L Nageshwara Rao, member of the Mudgal panel spoke about Sachin’s ‘very helpful’ testimony to the committee. The inquiry happened just after Sachin retired from cricket last November.
The report of the committee is submitted to the Supreme Court Monday.
