The opposition parties in Telangana took a harsh note of skyscrapers announcement made by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao. Dr. K Laxman, Floor Leader of BJP said that Hyderabad city lacked basic facilities so that still people die falling in drainage and CM plans for skyscrapers. He also reminded the government that the Court has banned the pucca constructions around Hussain Sagar lake.
TDP MLA from Qutbullapur KP Vivekanand said, “We have no objection to Mr Rao’s skyscraper plan, but Hyderabadis urgently require basic amenities. It’s shocking a 26-year-old housewife Satyavani lost her life falling into a nala in Secunderabad. This is not the first case. Several people died like this”.
Congress MLA DK Aruna said, “Government decision to delink welfare schemes with ration cards is unacceptable to people. Rations cards should be issued merely for rice. It has to be linked to Arogyasri, housing, fee reimbursement, pensions etc. We have lodged a strong protest over government move and we will fight it out”.
