The bail plea of the convicted former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Jayalalithaa in the Karnataka High Court will not be heard on Wednesday, October 1. Earlier in the day, the plea was scheduled to be heard on October 6, after vacations by the divisional bench.
The lawyers-team of Jayalalithaa, headed by senior lawyer and former union minister Ram Jethmalani approached the court Registrar for an urgent hearing in the matter. Justice DH Waghela then allowed the hearing to be held on Wednesday, seeing the importance of the matter.
The bail pleas of the close aides and relatives of Jayalalithaa, who were also convicted in the 18-year-old case had however been settled for October 6 only.
