Sonia and Rahul exempted from court appearance

Sonia-and-RahulTwo top Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and his son Rahul Gandhi have been exempted by the Delhi High Court from appearing in the court tomorrow in National Herald case.

The BJP leader Subramanian Swamy has filed a case against the Congress leaders accusing them of cheating and criminal breach of trust. A city court judge has summoned them in the case.

Mr. Swamy asserts that the Gandhis have broken the law to grab valuable properties in Delhi, including the office of the National Herald, a newspaper that was set up by the former PM Jawaharlal Nehru in 1938. The newspaper was apparently closed in the year 2008.

“I have found prima facie evidence against all the accused. The court has directed them to appear before it on August 7,” said metropolitan magistrate Gomati Manocha.
