The Sun group managed budget air travel company Spicejet has suddenly heated up the race to capture summer travelers by announcing huge discounts. In a just released promotional offer, the fares will be slashed 75% for early planners who book tickets between April 1 and June 30th this year. The “Super Summer Sale” is an offer the company is announcing based on the response it got for similar earlier offers, COO Mr. Kapoor said. Within the last one month, this is the third time the company is offering some kind of discount offer.
“Super summer sale offers up to 75 per cent off base fare plus fuel surcharge relative to last minute fares, for travel between April 1 and June 30, 2014, We received overwhelming positive feedback from customers who booked the earlier ‘super sales’ for taking the lead in making air travel more affordable, where travelers can now book more spontaneously and more often by air, and also for attracting many first time travelers,” SpiceJet chief operating officer Sanjiv Kapoor said.
There will be similar offers raining from other companies in the next few days, giving the customer more choice, watchers of the industry feel.
