Flood alerts have been sent to many across the banks of Krishna and Tungabhadra Rivers as a result of the heavy inflow of water from Karnataka. Due to non-stop rain in the region, the water inflow rising to danger level.
A control room has been set up in Kurnool by the officials to provide information about water level in the rivers and threat of flood to villages.
The Srisailam dam has filled to its maximum level of 885 ft. The inflow of water is at 1,82,000 cusecs while the outflow is 2,26,000cusecs.
The latest reports say that the dam gates have been lifted as the water inflow is huge.
