Srivari ‘laddu’ completes 300 years

635744672000642432Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams officers have informed that ‘laddu’ sold at Srivari temple atop Tirumala Hills has completed 300 years on August 2. The TTD had been distributing the tasty ‘laddu’ since August 2, 1715. At the sale counter 620 employees work along with another 270 staff who are engaged in the preparation of the precious ‘laddu’ without which no pilgrim returns from Tirumala Hills as it is not available elsewhere. The ‘laddu’ known for its quality and taste offered as ‘prasadam’ is also the most sought after product by millions of devotees reaching the temple town for darshan of the Lord. In 1100 AD a Pallava princess is said to have worshipped the God of Kaliyuga Lord Venkateshwara Swamy after reaching Tirumala Hills on a horseback.
