The controversial godman-turned-politician who was made the star campaigner for BJP in Uttar Pradesh by-polls gave his first reaction on Tuesday after party’s poor performance in the state. Blaming all but himself, he said that he was not allowed to campaign everywhere in the state.
The Lok Sabha member from Gorakhpur also raised questions on selection of candidates and party’s strategy in the state.
He said, “Party’s UP campaign strategy was flawed”.
The Samajwadi Party has sealed victory in the state snatching eight of the 11 assembly seats that went for poll. Mulayam Singh’s party also retained Mainpuri Lok Sabha seat.
Yogi Adityanath was also booked by the state police for deliberately attempting to trigger communal tension in the state. Yogi was found targeting a particular section of the society with the controversial term ‘love jihad’.
Meanwhile, Pritish Nandy also attacked Yogi through Twitter. He tweeted, “So @yogi_adityanath managed to do what the Congress failed to do. He single handedly damaged the BJP in UP”.
