Master Plan ready
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said that they have decided to lay the foundation stone for construction of the capital city in historic Amaravathi in Guntur district on June 6, and the works would commence from popular Vijayadasami festival. Nadiu said that along with Prime Minister N Modi, the Singapore government would be invited for stone laying ceremony. The master plan was handed over to the chief minister by the Singapore Minister S Eshwaran. Naidu asserted that it would be built to suit as 21st century capital and a dynamic city as well. By July 15, the Singapore government would hand over the master plan for main buildings. Stating that the plan was prepared based on the vision of Naidu to completely utilise the natural resources in AP, Eshwaran said that construction would not be competed in four or five years and it takes decades to implement the plan.
The Swachh Andhra corporation and Singapore cooperation enterprises ( SCE ) signed an MoU for evolving integrated solid waste management master plan in AP. Both the governments would jointly work for organising the solid waste management in AP. The SCE and the municipal officers will conduct workshops and then implement the selected project. Meanwhile, the YCP criticised that the plan was not upto the expectations and it required no money, technology and government to draw such a plan. Government is not the developer for lands collected from farmers, and what the AP government was adopting was anti-democratic and anti-Constitutional, it said.
