Chirs Gayle’s whirlwind ton in the T-20 match against England came after his team mate and best friend Suleiman Benn has asked for it. “ Go and entertain me..” were the words Suleiman said to Gayle when the latter was about to go into the ground and the West Indian batsmen okayed it and did the killing.
Gayle hit 100 off 47 balls and he became only the second batsman to score two centuries after Brendon Mc Cullum. Gayle said the flat pitch at Mumbai also helped his knock.
“The pitch was flat and dew played a part as well. After facing the first over I took a while to get back on strike, but Marlon helped ease the pressure. The guys who play the IPL know it’s a good wicket so we knew we always had a chance to chase it down,” he said.
Hopefully we can move onto Sri Lanka now. Bengaluru, my home town. Hopefully I can entertain again. The celebration was all about DJ Bravo and his new song” he added
Lauding Gayle for his record-breaking hundred, West Indies captain Darren Sammy said, “It’s always fun watching Gayle.
