Suman as blind Dritharashtra

Mahabarth Part 5Veteran star Suman will fill the most famous role of Kaurava emperor and blind Dritharashtra, who could not suppress his love and partiality for his wicked son Duryodhana in the epic poem Mahabharat. The role of his consort Gandhari known for her devotion to her husband as she blindfolds herself in obedience to her lord, goes to Ramyakrishna, who did her best in Baahubali as Sivagami. She is said to be a fit star to play a negative role in the story till the last even after the death of Duryodhana. Mother and father harness their son’s energies to check the powerful Bheema right from the childhood. For them their first born is entirely different from other 100 children, including their daughter Dussala. Rajamouli selects Jayaprada to amply fit in the role of Kunthidevi, the queen mother of Pandavas and great warrior Karna ( before marriage ). The roles of Kunthi, Gandhari and Dritharashtra are exceedingly important and intricate as they lead a palace life with Dharmaputra for 15 years after the Kurukshetra war.
