India’s legendary batsman, presently celebrated commentator of the game, recently briefly President of BCCI, Sunil Gavaskar is known to have escape a major, life threatening accident in London on Sunday. He is in the UK as part of his compering duties for the ongoing India-England cricket series. As he was travelling in a Jaguar car belonging to business man friend Chandresh Patel accompanied by another commentator Mark Nicholas from Manchester to London on Sunday, the car went out of control in heavy rain and collided with another vehicle on the same side Sunny was sitting. Though the car was entirely damaged, the passengers escaped unhurt.
“My God! God has saved us. There was torrential rain and our car was being driven very fast. Thankfully, no one was hurt although the accident was very, very scary,” Gavaskar said. The passengers were said to have taken a train from nearby station to reach London.
