“I am going to visit Afghanistan in two days. With this visit, we would have visited four of the eight countries, which form the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC), within three months of coming into office”, Ms Swaraj added.
Ms Swaraj has visited Nepal, Bhutan and Bangladesh earlier while he visits to Maldives, Pakistan and Sri Lanka are due apart from Afghanistan.
Speaking on the government’s performance, she said, “The present government has shown the world that we have two sides – a strong side and a sensitive side. If you want to look at the government’s strong side, you can look at the stance that we took with Pakistan, when we cancelled the Foreign Secretary-level talks. Also, when dignitaries from China had visited India, we told them quite strongly that since we follow the one-China policy, they should also follow a one-India policy”.
