Sweepers are gods, says CM

11010603_783272671788726_3105664309731538765_nGovernor E S L Narasimhan and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today formally started the Swach Hyderabad programme after lighting a traditional lamp at HICC in Madapur. Later, they also released a CD and a logo of Hyderabad. He said that it was painful to note as there are no proper facilities in Hyderabad and called the sweepers as gods. The chief minister after launching the Telangana face book page said that people must salute to sanitation workers. There is no time frame for the programme and it would be started on a full scale from tomorrow, the cm said. He also gave a call to all to participate the scheme as per their convenience. He thanked the Central minister Bandaru Dattathreya for sanction of Rs 75 crore from Niti Ayog funds. Governor said that he was proud of taking part in the programme and issued a call to organise it with responsibility and outside the purview of politics. Further, he said that by next session the city must be modified into a clean city.

NOT A SLOGAN

Dattathreya while praising the chief minister said that it is not a mere slogan but a perfect system. Public participation is a must for successful implementation of all government schemes, the minister asserted. Stating that Hyderabad is a great city, he said that it must be made a model city in the country. GHMC commissioner Somesh Kumar said that it is a wonderful programme designed by the chief minister and with people’s participation the scheme must be organised successfully.
