The Telangana government is considering increasing the pay-package of the MLAs and the MLCs in the state. It is reported that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao may announce the hike in the salary of about 100% anytime soon. Currently, the legislators get Rs. 1 Lakh + benefits but the government thinks that this is not enough to make them concentrate on their job with more focus.
The new salary would be something around Rs. 2 Lakh per month with separate emoluments.
KCR was earlier informed that the legislators have to pay Rs. 80,000 or around just for their fuel to make visits to the constituency.
The proposed hike in the salaries will create a new burden of Rs. 3.2 Crore per month and Rs.. 38.40 Crore per year.
