Telangana TDP president L Ramana led a group of party leader to a meeting with the state Governor ESL Narasimhan in Hyderabad on Friday to narrate the problems that are being faced by the farmers in the state.
Speaking to media persons soon after the meeting, L Ramana said, “This government is not bothered about farmers’ suicides. They have not bothered to find out the welfare of any such family”.
E Dayakar Rao, TDP MLA also addressed the media saying, “Government is responsible for farmers’ suicides. Each family should be given an ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh. Farmers are not getting remunerative price though they are doing farming with great difficulty”.
Mr. Rao added, “Cotton (price) has fallen. CCI says that government is not cooperating with us. Thats why we have requested that Governor intervene and see that a quintal is purchased at Rs 5,000 through CCI”.
