The HCA had been a tax defaulter since 2009 and the dues have now touched 12.66 crore.
On Saturday the IALA and the GHMC authorities visited the Rajiv Gandhi international stadium at Uppal and informed the association that the tax dues should be cleared.
Zonal commissioner, East, GHMC Mr. Raghu Prasad, explained, “The HCA is supposed to pay tax annually to the IALA of which 35 per cent is the GHMC’s share. Since 2009 the association has not been paying despite repeated notices. The association has not replied to any of the recent notices issued. They have been told to clear the dues by Monday.”
The HCA is supposed to pay 2 crore every year to overdue amount and interest on the tax adding upto 12.66 crore. The movable properties like a Xerox machine, chairs of HCA president vice-president and secretary were seized. The Hyderabad cricket association authorities were unavailable for a comment.
