TDP candidate Tangirala Soumya retained Nandigama assembly seat

Tangirala-SoumyaIn Nandigama Assembly constituency of Andhra Pradesh, ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has retained the seat here.

TDP candidate Tangirala Soumya was leading by 4,121 votes in the first round. And finally she has defeated Babu Rao of Congress party by over 70,000 votes.

Soumya is daughter of Tangirala Prabhakar Rao, whose death caused the byelection.

About 70 percent of 1.84 lakh votes had cast their votes in the bypolls held on Saturday in the constituency located in Krishna district in coastal Andhra.
