Techie Turns Cheat

TechieAn MCA graduate hailing from Palakolu town of West Godavari, Sheikh Umar Alisha, a former employee of IBM has been arrested by the Central Crime Station Police for cheating the car owners.

Additional commissioner of police Ms Swathi Lakra said that Umar would tell car owners that his company needed the vehicles to ply on the IT corridor for big companies and he would give higher returns. But after getting the cars he didn’t pay back the owners and instead sold some of the cars and forged the documents of some other.

It is said that Umar was associated by Srinivas Reddy of Kurnool district and Rakesh Kumar Reddy of Kadapa district. However both of them are absconding.

The police arrested him and recovered the cars from him which included Innovas, Scorpios, Verna and others.

“The victims were his acquaintances as he used to take cars from them earlier while he was working. After taking the cars from them, he started renting them out and earned extra money. However, he did not pay the owners,” Additional Commissioner of Police Ms. Swathi Lakra said.

Umar was earlier arrested by Madhapur police for cheating the people by running a job consultancy after quitting IBM. He was released on bail after the arrest.
