This new system will help the staff in making decisions faster on the safe movement of train as the new track system is capable of detecting overheated bearings, and wheels and brake discs.

The first phase of the project will be run on trial basis at 10 locations at a cost of Rs 73 Crore.

The system uses high-speed infrared and digital cameras. This technology may soon replace the manual track system after successful trial.
