The India Meteorological Department, and reported a significant warming conditions in many states during the last Six Decades. Only the States in Indo-Gangetic plains did not show a significant change. This was reported on the basis of a useful Index, called Diurnal Temperature Range (DTR). The observations during the study was based on this DTR index.
Since 1951, almost all the states in the country have shown a significant change in their Climatic Conditions. The increasing trend of annual mean maximum temperature and winter temperatures were steep over regions of Telangana state and Andhra Pradesh. Pointing out to the possibility of Extreme climate, the study reported that the annual minimum temperature in the states were also increasing significantly. Likewise trend was seen with reference to the rainfall, in the region.
