Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Odisha Government Website Hacked

Untitled-3On Friday 22 web portals of governments of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Odisha were allegedly hacked prompting the National Informatics Centre (NIC) to launch a probe.

A complaint is lodged by the Telangana Information Technology Association (TITA) with Cyber Crime Police Station which is attached to Cyberabad Police Commissionerate.

S Jayaram the Assistant Commissioner of Police said that 22 government websites were hacked by unknown Pakistan cyber hackers. The websites and servers are maintained by NIC. Based on the complaint the reporters spoke to the NIC authorities, and the authorities informed that they were already in knowledge of the same and the matter is under investigation. ACP also said that, in this regard State Information Centre was taking necessary steps along with NIC Delhi authorities. The hackers put their logo and vulnerable text on the homepages after hacking the websites.

TITA said in the complaint and requested that the Centre to take measures to ensure the security of government websites in India.
