News just emerged that the President of the Country has approved the Telangana Bill. The gazette is expected to be released by the evening. But the eagerly awaited Appointed Day of the Telangana state which marks the official birth of the new state still remains elusive. In an apparent addition to the tensions in the region, even the Delhi sources are unable to confirm if the Presidential Gazette will have the Appointed Day.
The issue has huge political ramifications too as the main partner of the UP government, Congress is expecting TRS to merge with them. But the most visible party of Telangana, TRS is keeping it’s cards close as it is not in a mood to lose it’s political independence already.
What new political activity will emerge if Congress decides to dangle the Appointed Day carrot to TRS is to be seen.
