Telangana CM quests for Parade Ground

kcrK. Chandrasekhar Rao Chief Minister is seriously scouting for land at Erragadda for a parade ground. The arrangements are under process for the first Republic Day celebrations of Telangana State at Secunderabad Parade Grounds.

The national flag will be hoisted by Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan at the Parade Grounds in Secunderabad unlike KCR hoisted the national flag on Independence Day at the Golconda Fort last year. As there is no space in Golkonda they shifted the Venue.

A senior official told Deccan Chronicle that “The CM is quite serious about acquiring the land belonging to TB and Mental Hospital at Erragadda for Telangana Parade Grounds. But there are some hitches like encroachments that have to be cleared.” The same was also told by some more officials

Mr Rao explained the senior officials and party leaders that the Government cannot depend on the Defence authorities for National Festivities. He hinted them about acquiring the Hospital Land as the Hospital can be shifted to Vikarabad.

Governor ESL Narasimham will hoist flag in Vijayawada in AP State first on January 26 and return to hoist the flag at Parade Grounds in Secunderabad in TS.

There are talks making rounds that the Governor may hoist the Republic Day Flag at Golconda, but the Raj Bhavan has different plan.
