Shortly Telangana state is coming up with one of a kind Photonics valley. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed by IT Secretary Haripreet Singh and US-based Photon IC Corporation CEO Dr Birendra Raj Dutt.

It signals paradigm shift from present day chip technology
On Saturday morning in the presence of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and IT Minister K T Rama Rao the MoU was signed.
In Los Angeles, Photon IC is a company having its registered office. The Photon IC International Private Limited, Singapore, is a Technology Company and Sister Company of Photon IC Corporation that has evolved an expertise in photonics. Company is handling various projects for United States military, including Defense Advanced Research Projects and Naval Air Systems Command.
To develop the State by harnessing the benefits of technology committed by Telangana State government.
They also agreed to evolve, test and produce the next generation chips and products by using the technology of Silicon Photonics and compound semi-conductor photonics. Both of them also agreed to work each other.
Within 90 days of completion of feasibility report to be prepared by Photonic Corporation, the MOU will be followed by a more detailed agreement specifying the roles and responsibilities for both. Chief Secretary Dr Rajeev Sharma and Principal Secretary to CM S. Narasing Rao were also present when the MOU was signed.
