Telangana goes to Constitutional bench now?

parliam

The Supreme Court has refused to issue a stay in the state bifurcation process. It has issued notices to the Center on the issue. The case may be transferred to a constitutional bench as per Justice Dattu and Justice Bobde’s opinion. The decision in this regard will be taken in the next hearing. The Court rejected the request to post next hearing before June 2nd.

The apex court accepted discussion on several cases filed on the issue including by Kiran Kumar Reddy, Sabbam Hari, Undavalli Arun Kumar and others.

The Center will now have to explain the basis for their decisions with regard to the issue. The complainants have argued that the issue should not have been taken up by the Parliament when the concerned assembly rejected the proposal. The parliament’s action is termed anti constitutional by the complainants.
