Telangana Government Announces Two Aerospace Parks

Aerospace-ParksTelangana State government on Tuesday announced new aerospace parks at Warangal and Hyderabad to attract foreign companies in defense and aerospace sectors. This will be the third aerospace park in Hyderabad after two in Adibatla. K. Pradeep Chandra Telan-gana’s special chief secretary and commissioner for industrial promotion and mines stated that it will be spread over an area of 1000 acres which is expected to give a fillip to the state’s defense industry. He was speaking at an event being organized to plan a 3 day defense and aerospace conference Defence and Aerosupply India organized by government along with Kenes Exhibitions. Global majors are expected to participate in the conference including Airbus, Boeing, and Schneider.
The defense industry is expected to triple in size in the next 15-20 years. With Prime Minister Narendra Modi pledging to “buy Indian”, domestic companies are entering into the defense sector in partnership with foreign defense equipment makers and are pouring in billions of dollars for aiming at high returns.
