The river Godavari on whose banks, the Pushkaralu is held once every 12 years enters Basara in Telangana and flows through various districts. The Telangana government had asked the district collectors about the situation. The reply from the collectors was that the banks and ghats were in a bad state and they needed thorough reconstruction. The festival which is celebrated after every 12 years, starts from end of June and goes on till July 2015. The administration has been asked to complete the works with 400 Crore, which is making the situation tough for them.
