From January 19 the popular inter-state Keslapur Jatara will be held at the Nagoba temple in Indravelli mandal. It will last till January 27. Since the festival will be celebrated in separate Telangana for the first time, efforts are on to make the tribal festival a grand success.
M. Jagan Mohan the District collector and ITDA, Utnoor in-charge project officer Prashanth Patil visited the Nagoba temple. On Wednesday they held a meeting with temple committee chairman Tukaram, assistant commissioner of endowments department Vijayaramarao, sarpanch Nagnad, trustees and elders of Mesram clan. They discussed about organizing the jatara.
The land documents relating to 27 acres of the temple land was handed over by the collector to the elders of Mesram clan. For the convenience of the pilgrims visiting the village the collector asked the officials to make necessary arrangements. The jatara draws pilgrims from neighboring states.
