In Hyderabad on Friday a new twist to the Eamcet dispute, the Telangana government offered to conduct a common Eamcet for both TS and Andhra Pradesh through Telangana State Council for Higher Education this year. The controversy rose when AP released an Eamcet notification, claiming that it is the competent authority to hold the test.
Ganta Srinivasa Rao who is AP HRD minister told that the TSCHE doesn’t have legal authority to conduct Eamcet.
G. Jagadish Reddy who is a Telangana State education minister said no changes were being promulgated to the existing system, including the introduction of a normalisation system for Eamcet ranks.
Though separate Inter-mediate exams will be held in both states, common ranks would be given, weighing the respective states Inter-mediate.
No communication had been received from AP officials on the Eamcet offer so far. On Friday Mr. Reddy met Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan and informed him of the TS government’s decision TS officials, said.
