The CPI and Congress had discussions related to the poll tie up between the parties and the situation of rebel candidates today. CPI leader Narayana and TPCC chief Ponnala Lakshmaiah participated in the discussions. Both leaders spoke to the media after the discussions. Ponnala Lakshmaiah appealed to all the rebel Congress candidates to withdraw from the fray immediately. He has reiterated the need to keep up the party’s word with CPI with regard to poll alliance. “All the B-Forms were issued as per the instructions from the congress high command, the same high command is now asking all the rebel candidates to withdraw, their instructions are to be followed, all sections of the society are given due justice in the ticket distribution, the Congress party has given us Telangana facing great political consequences, now we should all strive towards being faithful to the party,” said Ponnala.
CPI leader Narayana, who is contesting from Khammam Lok Sabha constituency has said that the first government in Telangana would be established by Congress and CPI together. HE has appealed to Congress rebel candidates to withdraw from all CPI seats. “Future government will take care of your prospects, all political posts, power will be in your hands, I appeal to all Congress rebels to cool down and withdraw your nominations. We will not leave any seat allotted to us as part of poll tie ups. Bellampalli, Munugodu should be ours, even in Maheshwaram constituency too, Malreddy Rangareddy should withdraw his nomination, we will not give any of these seats to congress. I repeat, the government will be formed by our alliance, even KCR should have accepted the alliance with Congress, if he had listened to our advice, he would have had a great future, the elections would have been entirely one sided, based on the seats won, the CM candidate could have been decided after the elections, how Congress has become an untouchable for him suddenly? Who ran to see Sonia Gandhi as soon as Telangana was declared?” thundered Narayana.
Meanwhile, Khammam Congress leader Renuka Chowdary has expressed deep dissatisfaction with her own party for leaving the seat to CPI. She had been expressing to re contest from the seat in this session of elections too.
