Temperatures fall sharply in Himachal after rain

himalayas(IANS) Temperatures across Himachal Pradesh fell sharply on Wednesday after widespread rains in most parts of the state. More showers have been forecast.

Shimla recorded a maximum temperature of 24.5 degrees Celsius, down from Tuesday’s 25.4 degrees.

Kalpa, a picturesque town 250 km from here, recorded a maximum temperature of 19 degrees Celsius. It was 28.2 degrees in Dharamsala and 40 degrees in Una.

Manmohan Singh, director of the meteorological office here, said: “The maximum temperature has plummeted by 5-6 degrees in the state after moderate rain since Tuesday.”

He said rain and thundershowers are likely to occur over mid and low hills of the state till Thursday.
