The Telangana government’s decision to reduce the term of office of temple trustees from two years to one, from the date of oath has passed the judicial test on Tuesday. The Hyderabad High Court agreed upon the decision taken by KCR government.
The T-state decision was challenged through a petition filed by Pally Narasimha Reddy, the chairman of the Trust Board of the Sri Kethaki Sangameswara Swamy Devasthanam, in Medak district, and 8 other Trust members. The bench comprising Chief Justice Kalyan Jyoti Sengupta and Justice P.V. Sanjay Kumar rejcted the plea and approved the decision of the state government.
The GO was released on November 1, 2014 to reduce the term period of the temple trustees in the state.
