The Excise Minister Padma Rao visited the Excise office in Nalgonda and discussed with the officials about the steps taken to control gudunba and illicit liquor. The minister accompanied the Excise police and locals on motor bike and paid a surprise visit to Gollaguda where illicit liquor was made. The Minister visited Mattayya Goud’s house and spoke to two girls in the house. He persuaded the girls to take an oath not to make gudunga. He gave them two thousand rupees for their studies. Meanwhile the girl’s mother Renuka returned and the Minister spoke to her too. She pleaded with the Minister that her husband was bed ridden and if a loan was provided to them they would set up a small shop and live an honourable life. Then the Minister gave her fifty thousand rupees and counseled her to lead a respectable life.
