The TRS party had given seats to 11 women for the 119 seats assembly, Congress gave 10 tickets to women. Other party’s have also given few tickets to women, but the calculation is immaterial as all the winning women are from these two parties only. Of these, total nine women candidates have won. 6 representing TRS, and three from Congress. Except Geeta Reddy, DK Aruna and Konda Surekha are the only experienced politicians. All others are first time representatives, including the lone woman MP Kalvakuntla Kavitha.

Senior most leader of the group, J Geeta Redy, contesting from Zahirabad had barely managed her success with just 814 votes majority. The highest majority is achieved by Warangal’s strong lady, Konda Surekha who won the Warangal East seat representing TRS with a 55 thousand 85 votes majority.

The lone woman MP from Telangana, K Kavitha has taken the Nizamabad MP seat with a margin of 1 lakh 63 thousand 893 votes.

Compared to Telangana, Seemandhra fared better, with 17 assembly seats won by women plus two Lok Sabha seats.
