“Titli” only Indian film selected for Cannes


Filmmaker Dibakar Banerjee has turned a producer and in association with Yashraj Films has produced the movie Titli. Now, Titli has been chosen to be screened in the Uncertain Regard section in Cannes film festival. It will be the only film from India to feature in the prestigious festival. The festival authorities have announced this years selection day before yesterday. While 20 films will feature in the competition section, the uncertain regard section will have 19 films.

Titli is the story of two brothers getting separated, one becomes a criminal, the other remains with the family. They meet again after they become adults. Newcomer Kanu Behl has directed the film. “I am delighted with the news. Kanu has made Titli into one of the strongest films out of India that will truly put India on the global map. I am glad to be a small part of a truly amazing journey for this outstanding film,” said co producer Guneet Monga.

Yashraj Films have association with another Cannes festival film, the opening film Grace De Monaco starring Nicole Kidman is produced by YRF!
