To Gas Subsidy open an Account in Nationalised Banks

Gas-SubsidySince November 15 last year, domestic LPG consumers holding accounts in private banks have not receiving subsidy amounts, when the modified DBT scheme was launched in Telangana. The consumers who are holding accounts in private banks like ICICI Bank, Axis Bank etc. have complained of not getting the gas subsidy amounts. However, They were, receiving the subsidy amounts in their bank accounts in the earlier phase of DBT during the UPA regime.

The officials are asking the consumers to open fresh accounts in nationalised banks. C. Parthasarathy, commissioner of Civil Supplies said “We received complaints from consumers holding accounts in ICICI and Axis banks, of not getting subsidy amount. However, we are asking consumers to open fresh accounts in PSU banks and submit the account details since there is no problem with these banks.”

In case of any problems in receiving subsidy amounts, the department asked consumers to contact helpline numbers of ICICI Bank (040-41066099) and Axis Bank (040-47476635)
