This Pushkaralu will be celebrated once in every 12 years, this year it may be between July 14 and 25, 2015.
Collector said that 3 Pushkar Ghats would be readied on the banks of Godavari at Ramannagudem and Mallakatta in Eturunagaram mandal and at Mallur in Mangapet mandal in the district for the purpose.
On Thursday, a meeting was held with district officials to review the preparations for Godavari Pushkaralu.
A 100-metre Pushkar Ghat at Mallakatta is to be built. He has directed executive engineer Sudhir of Irrigation Department for that.
The Collector said to collect the estimated cost at the earliest to make arrangements for Pushkaralu. “Panchayat Raj, Roads and Buildings, RWS, Revenue, Information & PR, Police and Fire Departments should work in coordination in making the arrangements. And he wants the bathing ghats to be in place with proper sanitation mechanism.
He also said that Medical camps should be conducted at all the three pushkar ghats for 12 days.
Mohan who is superintendent of TSTransco to take steps for power supply at Pushkar Ghats. To monitor the arrangements committee comprising 18 officials as members and District Collector as its chairman was constituted.
