Top five Indian billionaires accounting for half of nation’s billionaires wealth

richIt seems there is huge difference in wealth distribution not only among the urban and poor, but also among the Indian billionaires! According to a new research analysis on wealth distribution in India it is revealed that the top five Indian billionaires account for nearly half of the country’s total billionaire wealth. Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani tops the richest list with $24.4 billion.
Steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal, takes second place with a net worth of $ 17.2 billion, Sun Pharama’s Dilip Sanghvi is the third wealthiest Indian with $16.3 billion, followed by Wipro Chairman Azim Premji ($14.9 billion) and Pallonji Shapoorji Mistry is at the fifth spot with ($12.7billion).
“The five billionaires collectively control $85.5 billion in personal wealth, accounting for 47.5 percent of India’s total billionaire wealth”, research analyst Wealth-X said. “Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan, with USD 600 million, master blaster Sachin Tendulkar with personal wealth of $160 million too feature in the list from other sectors. Mukesh Ambani owns the most valuable IPL team – Mumbai Indians, worth around $112 million”, mentioned the report.
