Toshiba Plans $30 Million Investment in Hyderabad

ToshibaToshiba, one of the leading multi-business organisations from Japan has planned to invest $100 million in power sector in India by 2016. As a first phase of implementation, Toshiba announced to invest $30 million.

In a statement released by Toshiba Corporation, Toshiba is all set to invest 3 billion Yen in Toshiba Transmission & Distribution Systems India Private Ltd (TTDI) in Hyderabad. Toshiba has set the target for transmission and distribution of power sector in one of the potential high-growth market in the world. The new facility in Hyderabad will begin in 2015.

Toshiba also plans to secure 20 per cent market share in India by 2018.

The new power transformer line will support production of 765 kV (kilovolt) transformers with a capacity of 500 MVA (mega volt ampere), while the new switchgear line will produce high voltage products. Toshiba already exist in production line of small and medium capacity transformers and low and medium voltage switchgears.
