After 14 years of struggling we achieved our own statehood, now the TRS is focusing to strengthen the party in the village to district levels, besides in the civic body. By February, the party is targeting to enrol 30,000 members in every Assembly constituency and constitute village to state-level committees before the party’s first foundation day celebrations in the new state at Parade Grounds in Secunderabad on April 27. And they are expecting 5 lakh people expected to attend the meeting.
On April 24 to elect the party president, the TRS’ extended general body will meet at the RD Convention Hall at Kompally. Media say that current TRS president and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao will be re-elected. Since the CM is busy with administration, A working president might also be appointed to look after the party affairs. On Tuesday, Mr Rao launched the membership drive. New members will be issued with an ID card and they will get insurance cover of Rs 2 lakh.
