TRS MP Demands Special Status to T-state on the lines of AP

vinod-kumarThe TRS MP from Karimnagar requested the Union Ministry of Finance to grant special status to the newly formed state Telangana as it is being considered for Andhra Pradesh.

In a letter written to Arun Jaitley, Vinod Kumar said, “It was learnt from the print media, that the Finance Minister had held a meeting with top officials of Andhra Pradesh and announced that Special Status to AP will be granted within a fortnight”.

Vinod Kumar wrote, “In this regard, the press statements hurt feelings of 4.5 crore people of Telangana and alarming for the Telangana government for not including its name in the announcements”.

“I further submit that, according to AP Reorganisation Act, Section 94 (1), the Central Government shall take appropriate fiscal measures including offer of tax incentives to the successor states, to promote industrialisation and economic growth in both states.

“Sub section (2) says the central government shall support the programs for the development of backward areas in the successor states, including expansion of physical and social infrastructure,” the letter interpret.
