TS CM demands Special Status for Telangana

Arun-JaitleyOn Saturday K Chandrasekhar Rao the Telangana Chief Minister met Arun Jaitley the Union Finance Minister and demanded special status for the newly carved state.

While talking with the reporters after the meeting B Vinod Kumar the senior TRS leader and party deputy floor leader in the Lok Sabha said the issue of backwardness of the state was discussed with the finance minister to justify their demand for the Special Status.

The Planning Commission had declared eight out of ten districts as backward in Telangana. He also said that the Special Status was vital to the state as it had been newly formed.

Vinod said, the finance minister had queried about the need for a Special Status for Telangana since Hyderabad the revenue-generating was the part of the newly created state. He also said that they told the finance minister that Hyderabad was not getting the revenue as was being projected.
