The state government of Telangana formed a committee to review and modify the existing curriculum on gender sensitisation, human values etc. The Committee would review the curriculum of technical education, intermediate and universities in the state; the GO was issued on Tuesday.
Shailaja Ramiyar has been appointed as the chairman of the Committee and a representative each from every university will be the members of the committee along with the Commissioner of technical education and collegiate education
The Committee will plan to introduce gender sensitivity issues, safety and security of women and girls, laws and rights, etc as per the references made by Saksham report, 2013. It had recommended including the topics like child sex abuse prevention, gender inequalities and social/human values in the appropriate content and pedagogy as compulsory in the curriculum.
